Sandown Town Council has completed the commissioning of new decorative lighting in the town, just in time for Christmas.
The Town Council has also been busy arranging for the installation of the Christmas Tree and lights near to the library before Small Business Saturday (last Saturday), as well as supporting a range of festive fun events.
Mayor Paddy Lightfoot has said:
“Thanks to the support of local residents, and contractors working to a very tight deadline (and still working), we’ve been able to install decorative lights in time for Christmas and for the Carnival’s New Year programme of events.
“In addition to maintaining an increased programme of activity at the Broadway Centre, we’ve been able to support a range of other community initiatives and, once covid guidance changes in 2022, we will be able to plan other activities for Christmas 2022”.
The Town Council have also supported the Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat fundraising fayre, alongside other fayres in the town, plus a ’12 days of Christmas’ design project with the local school, the Christmas Celebration Day, a fundraising quiz and a whole host other events.

Lucky that like many creatures which dwell there now that they, the dec are high. Otherwise the vandals would destroy anything which is placed to give joy to others.
