League leaders Ryde A had an easy win over Shanklin Warriors, 9-1 in Division 1, with Ryde’s Scott Lawson being player of the match.
Shanklin’s 2nd team, the Skuas had a better week of it, with a close match against Ryde D, with Ryde’s Martin Johnstone player of the game. Ryde’s junior players, Lewis Johnstone and Ryan Cates both had good wins against Elaine Mills, who is part of the team representing the Isle of Wight in the Island Games in Guernsey next year.
At the halfway stage of the season, the top of Division 1 is dominated by Ryde, with the A, B and D teams in the top 3 places.

In Division 2, Ryde Rockets met Ryde Wight Knights in a closely fought contest, with the Rockets’ John Linington in excellent form winning all 3 games.
Ryde Relatives destroyed Newport Vics C 9-1, leaving Vics C firmly at the bottom of the table. In contrast, their club mates Newport Vics B head the table with an 11-point lead over Ryde Rascals at the halfway point of the season.

In Division 3, St Lawrence Lizards had a close win over Ryde Retailers, with St Lawrence’s Derek Pittard player of the match, winning all 3.
Ryde’s 11-year-old Jai Lock had a decisive win over experienced Andy Francis, and teammate Shane Cates won 2, but St Lawrence took the match 6-4 after an easy doubles win.
St Lawrence lead the table at the halfway season stage, with Ryde Rustics and Shorwell Spinners lying 2nd and 3rd respectively.
