A 17-year-old boy from Ryde, arrested after an 8-year-old girl was left with serious facial injuries in East Cowes, has now been bailed.
As previously reported by Island Echo, the teenager was arrested on suspicion of GBH after Police were called to Vectis Road at 16:50 on 5th March.
An 8-year-old girl, from Newport, sustained a serious facial injury – allegedly after being hit in the face by a skateboard.
It’s understood the youngster has undergone surgery to rebuild her nose.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary continues to investigate the incident and has bailed their suspect until 6th June.
Anyone with information, or who believes they witnessed the incident, is asked to contact Police on 101 quoting 44260108322.
If he did it deliberately why has he been bailed? He could do something else?? If it was an accident that’s different? I hope the poor little girl is doing ok, the poor parents must be going through hell right now, a skate park where you think your kids will be safe?
Sadly no where is safe thesedays.

Not that I condone fighting of any sort at any age, however if you can’t get into altercation without using weapons of any kind, you are clearly an inept coward.
On this particular occasion, maybe the parent should wrap his skateboard round his head and see how it feels. I doubt he’ll do it again.
