Here are the results from the penultimate week of the Isle of Wight Winter Table Tennis League.
Division 1
With 1 week of the season left to go, Ryde teams look likely to keep the top 4 places, after Shanklin Warriors were beaten by their fellow clubmates, lower-placed Shanklin Skuas. The Skua’s Paul Rainford was the player of the match, winning all 3 singles with ease, plus the doubles with Graham Evans. The match finished 6-4 to the Skuas and the Warriors dropped to 5th place with 2 matches left to play.
After this week’s whitewash of Havenstreet B by Ryde C, and Ryde D’s easy win over Newport Vics B by 8 games to 2, Ryde are definitely the club in form in this season’s Division 1.
Ryde A’s Scott Lawson is heading the averages table and is unbeaten all season, with Ryde C’s Alex Rorke second on 94%.
