Ryde Rowing Regatta will return in 2022 during the extra long Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend, it has been announced.
Subject to any further (and unlikely) COVID-19 restrictions being put in place and the successful completion and reinstatement of Appley Park by Southern Water, next year’s annual Ryde Rowing Club Regatta will take place on Saturday 4th June 2022.
The event, which takes place during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend, will start later than usual at 13:00 and will finish around 18:00.
The regatta will be run from Appley Beach with the course starting at the eastern end of Ryde Canoe Lake, heading out at an angle for around 900m towards the end of Ryde Pier, where there will be a buoy turn and a return to the start. The course is to the east of the Ryde harbour approach channel and does not interfere with this or the Hovercraft manoeuvring area.
