Ryde Inshore Rescue successfully located and rescued 2 paddle boarders on the Solent this afternoon (Saturday).
The independent lifeboat was tasked by Solent Coastguard at 13:16 to locate and assist 2 males in difficulty off Ryde Sands.
Ryde Rescue 1 was immediately launched and it wasn’t long before the 2 paddle boarders were found some distance off the shore to the East of Ryde Pier.
The volunteer crew members helped the casualties into the lifeboat before heading back to the Appley-based lifeboat station, where the cold and exhausted men were looked after.
