League leaders Ryde C dropped a couple of points against struggling Newport Vics B this week.
Vics’ Rob Warren and Barry Joyce both won against Ryde’s Joe Chapman, and the match ended 8-2 to Ryde.
2nd placed Ryde Rankers won 10-0 against clubmates Ryde Goshawks, who were a player short. The Rankers Lewis Johnstone got the better of his dad Martin, but only after a 5 set struggle. The Rankers are still 17 points behind Ryde C but do have a game in hand.
3rd placed Ryde B had an easy win against Newport Vics A, losing only 1 game, with Vic’s Dave Hilliam beating Bryce Wilson in 5 sets.

In Division 2…
Division 2 leaders Ryde Revellers had a stunning win against Ryde Rascals this week, as the Reveller’s Nicky Dando and Spike Hughes were unbeaten, whilst team mate Dave Batten lost only one against the Rascal’s Peter Clarke.
The match ended 9-1 to the Revellers, extending their lead at the top of the table to 11 points over Ryde Detonators.
The Detonators also had an easy win against Ryde Rockets, although the Rocket’s Tim Wakeley was on fine form, winning 2 against Trevor Jones and Bernie Forward, and the match ended 8-2 to the Detonators.
Havenstreet B who lie in 3rd place are still contenders for the top spot after a 9-1 win against Shorwell Spinners.
