Ryde Rankers have closed the gap further on Division 1 league leaders Ryde C after an 8-2 win against Havenstreet A.
The Ranker’s Hugh Idle and Lewis Johnstone were unbeaten, whilst Havenstreet’s Michael Bulpitt and Tom Johnson both won against Graham Evans.
Meanwhile, Ryde A – who are in 3rd place – have closed the gap on the Rankers after a whitewash of Newport Vics B, with Scott Lawson, Rob Smith and Mark Turner all unbeaten.

In Division 2…
Division 2 leaders Ryde Revellers met fourth placed Havenstreet B in the match of the week.
Havenstreet’s Paul White was on fine form, winning all his games, including a 5 set thriller against Spike Hughes, who heads the averages table. White’s teammates Carl Rye and Paul Stringer won one each, and the match ended in a draw.
Ryde Detonators met clubmates Ryde Rascals in another close match, with the Rascal’s Peter Clarke and the Detonator’s Bernie Forward both winning 2 each, whilst Elaine Mills of the Detonators was player of the match and unbeaten. With the Detonators taking the deciding doubles in 4 sets, they won the match 6-4.
The youngsters of Ryde Rising Stars enjoyed a 9-1 thrashing of Newport Vics D, with Jye Lock and Theo Lewis unbeaten, and Thane Taylor winning two.

In Division 3…
In Division 3, St Lawrence Lizards – who were much fancied to return to Division 2 after relegation last season – have slipped into 3rd place after an 8-2 loss to Wroxall Warriors.
However, Wroxall’s lead at the top looks precarious as Ryde Retailers have sped up the table recently, and this week enjoyed a 10-0 victory over Ryde Rustics. The Retailers are now only 4 points behind Wroxall, and – with 2 games in hand – are now looking the favourites for the title.
