The Ryde Marina Bowls Club Women’s Senior Fours team have won the Bowls England National Championship in Leamington Spa.
The 4 ladies – Leen Hampshire, Carole Wolton, Sandra Aldridge and Anne Bernard – will now go on to represent England in the British Isles Championships at Leamington Spa in June 2024.
In the 1st Round, Ryde Marina overcame Workington Bowls Club 17-20. In the 2nd Round, Ryde Marina beat Poole Park 16-11. The Ryde Ladies then went on to win their Quarter Final game against Bolton Bowling Club 15-13.
In Thursday’s Semi-Final, Ryde Marina was victorious against Alton Social by a score of 18-17.
And so to the final, played on Thursday afternoon, in which Ryde Marina emphatically beat Dunholm St Giles from Lincolnshire 7-17 to take the National Championship.
