48-year-old Lee Pitcher from Ryde pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words to cause harassment, alarm or distress at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court yesterday (Tuesday) following an incident back in February.
Prosecuting, Ann Smout said that the complainant – a man known to Pitcher – was walking down the High Street in Ryde from The Falcon pub at about 13:00 on Sunday 12th February when Pitcher started shouting at him in a threatening manner from the window of his home.
Smout went on to tell the court that the complainant was caused anxiety and distress by the incident and is now afraid to walk around Ryde.
Defending, Amy Hosell said that her client’s daughter had been in a relationship with the complainant. She added that although her client had previous convictions, he had stayed out of trouble for some years and worked 6 days a week, as well as looking after his young child on the weekends.
Magistrates handed Pitcher a £246 fine and he was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £98.

I remember this scum bag from school
So once again he gets away with it,he has made life hell for many people over the years.
her client’s daughter had been in a relationship with the complainant
her client had previous convictions
hmm – methinks that the complainant had p^ssed off his girlfriend for one reason or another, who had then complained to her dad, who felt compelled to defend his daughters honour, by giving the complainant a mouthful out of his window.
more to this story and I somehow doubt this complainant is the angel he is making himself out to be.
chances are that all the complainant will really succeed in doing, is putting himself in the firing line, if pitcher or his friends see the complainant in the boozer on a weekend or if they see him after they have been to the boozer.
I suspect this isn’t over yet..
Ryde High St is a joke.
Pray tell, why?
Drug City.
Whenever walking along the High Street you can always smell drugs
Shouting out of a window. Since when has that been a crime? Woke BS. Yet others can deal drugs, batter people senseless, shop lift, burgle, and drive will drugged and/or drunk but get no punishment. However, if you shout of a window, that is a real crime. This fella should have done what these other scumbags do and just deny it until he was blue in the face. The police wouldn’t have bothered prosecuting then. Broken country.
Stick & stones etc. Childish behaviour. Police and newsworthy? Offended person “now afraid to walk around Ryde”. Jeez, I had worse than this at school – YEARS ago. What a society today is. No doubt the ‘anxiety’ also stops this person being able to work. Blah blah
A friend of mine who passed away many years ago who was born and bred in Ryde in the 1920’s
he got to the ripe old age of 88
He always said years ago Ryde was a sh*thole, nothing’s changed all these years later.
To be honest it’s getting worse, the new Interchange does not change the people.
A photo of that man should be published, so that the public know who he is and who to be wary of.
