RYDE LIFEGUARDS TAKE DELIVERY OF INSHORE RESCUE BOAT

Ryde Beach Lifeguards took delivery of their new Inshore Rescue Boat from boat builders Milpro this week.

The purchase of the IRB was in response to a rescue of multiple casualties last summer, which proved challenging for the lifeguards on Malibu boards and a kayak.

Todd Miller, Beach Manager, and his team are continuously reviewing their processes and looking at ways they can improve the service they deliver for Ryde Town Council. It was decided that an IRB would be most suitable and will enable them to perform rescues much easier and quicker.

Thanks to a successful grant from Morrisons, this idea has become reality and Ryde Beach Lifeguards took delivery of their new IRB on Monday where it was blessed by Councillor Adrian Axford.

The lifeguards are currently undergoing their pre-season training and hoping to be on duty from the 1st July 2020.
