Ryde D were in excellent form this week with a whitewash over Havenstreet B in Division 1.
Ryde’s juniors Ryan Cates and Lewis Johnstone were joined by Lewis’s dad Martin in a stunning win showing the potential of the youngsters in their 1st season.
In a contrasting match, Ryde C met Shanklin Warriors in a close match which could have gone either way. Ryde’s Alex Rorke won all 3 with relative ease, but Shanklin’s Don Hobbs, Spike Hughes and Michael Bulpitt all played well, leaving Shanklin in the lead before the doubles were played to decide the match. Ryde’s Rorke and teammate Tim Giles won easily, and the match ended in a draw.
Ryde A are tied with Havenstreet A in top spot, with both Havenstreet’s Roger Hookey and Keith Baker leading the player averages table on 100% each and having played the full complement of games.
