Havenstreet A have slipped to 5th place after a 7-3 defeat by Ryde A, who are in 3rd place, and Ryde A also beat Newport Vics B easily this week, although both teams were depleted and had only 2 players each.
Ryde A’s Scott Lawson has an unbeaten record so far this season, whilst Hugh idle of Ryde Rankers and Steve Mills of Ryde Goshawks have lost only 1 each.

In Division 2…
In Division 2, leaders Ryde Revellers were beaten by 5th placed Havenstreet B in an incredibly tight match with closely fought games.
Havenstreet’s Carl Rye was player of the match and unbeaten.
2nd placed Ryde Detonators were held to a draw by lower ranked Ryde Rascals in another exciting match, whilst the young cadets of Ryde Rising Stars moved up to 3rd place after a 9-1 hammering of Newport Vics C.
Ryde Rocket’s Trevor Percival and Ryde Quintet’s Julie Thorn have lost only 1 match each so far, whilst Havenstreet’s Carl Rye has lost only 2.

In Division 3…
Wroxall Warriors are just 1 point behind Division 3 leaders St Lawrence Lizards after their 6-4 victory over 3rd placed Ryde Retailers.
Wroxall’s Andrew Bailey was unbeaten, as he has been all season.
St Lawrence met Ryde Frogs and won 7-3, although the Frog’s Robin Clegg was on tremendous form, winning all 3 and beating St Lawrence’s top ranked Derek Pittard in 5 sets in the closest of games.
The Frogs’ Charlotte Banks was the unluckiest player on the night, losing 2 5 set games to Tom Flood and Andy Francis.

Gordon Burns Handicapped Singles and Brian Warne Drawn Doubles Tournaments
2 annual tournaments have also been held recently, with the finals of both to be played on Finals Night in April 2025.
The finalists of the Gordon Burns Singles are Danny Burns (son of Gordon, who was a former chairman of IWTTA) and 12 year old Theo Lewis, whilst Theo also made it into the final of the Brian Warne Doubles, playing with John Cornforth, and they will meet Bryce Wilson and 13-year-old Thane Taylor in April.
