Ryde C extended their Division 1 lead, Goshawks secured their first win, and Division 3 delivered 2 hard-fought draws in the latest round of IWTTA fixtures.
In Division 1…
In a top-of-the-table clash, 2nd-placed Ryde A took on leaders Ryde C. With C-team players on exceptional form following strong British Senior Clubs League performances, the A team faced a tough challenge – made greater by the absence of one of their key players.
Pat Thorley stepped in for her first match in over a year, giving a spirited performance but unable to find a win. Rob Smith edged a 5-set battle against Joe Chapman, while teammate Scott Lawton secured 2 victories, narrowly losing a third 11-9 in the fifth to Ryan Cates. Smith and Lawton combined superbly in the doubles to defeat Cates and Chapman in four.
However, it wasn’t enough to overturn the deficit as Ryde C took the match 6–4, extending their lead at the top to 5 points.
Ryde Goshawks celebrated their first win of the season, defeating Ryde Revellers 9–1 with Charlie Stapeley unbeaten and named player of the match.

In Division 2…
Ryde Rising Stars edged past Ryde Retailers in a tightly-contested fixture. Retailers’ pairing Steve Laing and Paul Cates were both in strong form as they each overcame cadets Thane Taylor and Theo Lewis, but Tom Waddell remained unbeaten to steer the Stars to a 6–4 victory.
Newport Vics B sit close behind in third after defeating Ryde Rovers 7–3, with Paul Freeborn unbeaten and player of the match.

In Division 3…
Division Three produced two exciting draws, with both Shorwell sides sharing points. The Saints – second from bottom – claimed a well-earned 5–5 result against second-placed Cowes Baptists, while the Saviours also split the points with Ryde Odd Balls.
Wroxall Warriors A continue to dominate, sitting 23 points clear of Cowes. However, Newport Vics C hold two matches in hand and could still mount a challenge for the top spot as the season progresses.
