Just 2 matches were completed in Division 1 this week, and both finished as whitewashes. Ryde C defeated Ryde Goshawks 10-0 to extend their lead at the top of the table, while Havenstreet A recorded a 10-0 win against Ryde Revellers to move up into 4th place.
Michael Bulpitt was player of the match for Havenstreet A, while Ryan Cates earned the award for Ryde C.

Division 2 produced the match of the week as Ryde Rising Stars and Newport Vics B shared the points.
The meeting between the continually improving Rising Stars and Newport Vics B proved long and absorbing, with 5 matches going to deciding 5th sets and a further 3 reaching 4 sets. Newport’s Paul Freeborn was player of the match but was unable to overcome Ryde cadet Thane Taylor, who secured victory in the final set. Fellow cadet Theo Lewis also claimed a narrow win over Michael Jose.
Ryde’s Tom Waddell won 2 singles, but the match was settled in the doubles, where Newport’s Paul Freeborn and Paul Lewis won in 4 sets to secure a 5-5 draw.
Elsewhere, Newport Vics A extended their lead at the top of the table with a 9-1 win against Shorwell Sinners. Havenstreet B moved into 3rd place following an 8-2 victory over Ryde Resisters, while Ryde Retailers climbed further up the table after a comfortable 9-1 win against Ryde Rogues.

Leaders Fall as Division 3 Delivers First Season Defeat
Division 3 saw its 1st major upset as Cowes Baptists handed Wroxall Warriors A their opening defeat.
League leaders Wroxall Warriors A suffered their 1st loss of the season after an inspired performance from Cowes Baptists. Cowes’ Mark Compton was unbeaten and named player of the match, while also ending Andrew Bailey’s 100% record. Bailey later teamed up with Neil Hedges to take the doubles, but Cowes secured a deserved 6-4 victory.
Wroxall Warriors B were also involved in a tight contest against Shorwell Saviours. Phil Stevens was in outstanding form, winning all 3 singles and the doubles alongside Mark Coombe. Shorwell’s Martyn Walker claimed 2 singles wins, but Wroxall edged the match 6-4.
Ryde Odd Balls recorded a solid 7-3 win over Wroxall Warriors C, while Ryde Raiders and Wroxall Lizards shared the points in a 5-5 draw.
