In the final week of matches in Division 1 of the Winter League, Ryde A took 2nd place in the League despite their 7-3 defeat to Ryde B.
Another Ryde team, the Reprobates, took 3rd place after their 10-0 defeat of Ryde Ravens.
Scott Lawson of Ryde A finished top of the averages table after only one defeat, whilst Ryde C’s Paul Rainford came in 2nd with over 91% win average. The top player from a non-Ryde team was Shanklin A’s Mike Turner, who finished with just under 70%. Despite Ryde’s domination of Division 1, Shanklin A finished in a respectable 5th place, whilst Newport Vics A had a disappointing season finishing 2nd from bottom just ahead of clubmates Vics B. It’s strange how it is only called table tennis when it’s competitive. All day long it’s ping pong.
Can’t beat Forrest Gump playing it, or the {fake} video of Bruce Lee playing ping pong with nunchucks.
