Ryde A closed the gap on leaders Ryde C to just three points with a convincing win over Ryde Goshawks.
Ryde Goshawks’ only success came courtesy of Don Hobbs, who overcame Rob Smith, but Ryde A proved too strong across the board to continue their push towards the summit.
Ryde Rankers remain third after a hard-fought 6–4 win away to Havenstreet A. Hugh Idle remained unbeaten for Rankers, with teammate Graham Evans adding 2 more wins. Havenstreet’s Roger Hookey also picked up 2 victories, but Rankers sealed the match with a comfortable doubles success for Evans and Idle.
At the lower end of the table, Ryde B earned a 7–3 win over Ryde Revellers, tightening the mid-table pack.

In Division 2…

Newport Vics continue to dominate the second tier, with their A and B sides sitting first and second. However, Ryde Rising Stars look strong contenders to break into the top two after a commanding 10–0 win over Ryde Rogues. Rising Stars’ cadets Theo Lewis and Thane Taylor, supported by experienced Tom Waddell, again showed maturity beyond their years, holding firm in tight games and taking a competitive doubles to complete the clean sweep.
Havenstreet B earned a 7–3 victory over newly promoted Ryde Retailers, though Retailers’ Robin Clegg impressed once more with two wins in his debut Division 2 season. Havenstreet’s Paul White was unbeaten and named player of the match. A lengthy five-set doubles went the way of Havenstreet pair Carl Rye and Mike Prior to round off the evening.
Elsewhere, Shorwell Sinners and Ryde Rovers drew 5–5, while Newport Vics B cruised to a 9–1 win against Ryde Resisters.

Wroxall Warriors A strengthened their lead at the top with a comprehensive 10–0 victory over Shorwell Saviours. Behind them, Cowes Baptists moved up to second place following a strong 9–1 win over Wroxall Warriors B, who drop to fourth after the result.
Shorwell Saints enjoyed one of the standout wins of the week, beating the experienced Wroxall Legendary Lizards 6–4. Saints’ Ian Parker produced an excellent unbeaten performance to claim player of the match.
There were further convincing wins for Ryde Raiders, who beat Wroxall Warriors C 10–0, while Newport Vics C secured an 8–2 victory over Ryde Odd Balls.
