Ryde A closed the gap on Isle of Wight Table Tennis Division 1 leaders Ryde C after a dominant whitewash against their opponents, while Ryde Revellers endured another difficult night.
Scott Lawson was player of the match as second-placed Ryde A swept aside Ryde Goshawks 10-0 to maintain their title push. Goshawks’ Charlie Stapleley was unlucky not to claim a point after taking Rob Smith to a deciding 5th set, but Smith’s experience told as he closed out the final set 11-4.
Ryde Revellers showed resilience despite an 8-2 defeat against Ryde B. Substitute Robin Clegg, playing up from Division 2, and Spike Hughes both claimed singles wins, while Clegg also pushed Pat Thorley to deuce in the final set before narrowly missing out.

Ryde Rising Stars continued their strong form as Newport Vics A dropped points at the top.
Rising Stars recorded a convincing 9-1 win against Ryde Resisters, with Trevor Percival scoring the Resisters’ only point. Thirteen-year-old Theo Lewis was player of the match, and the result keeps Rising Stars firmly on course for a 2nd-place finish.
Havenstreet B remain 3rd after a 7-3 win over Ryde Rovers. Several matches were closely contested, but Havenstreet edged the key moments, with Carl Rye unbeaten and named player of the match.
At the top of the table, Newport Vics A dropped points despite an 8-2 win against Ryde Rogues, with Peter Clarke and substitute Robin Clegg both recording victories over Michael Jose.

Ryde Odd Balls and Cowes Baptists both strengthened their positions with convincing wins.
Ryde Odd Balls claimed an 8-2 victory over Wroxall B. Gareth Lewis was unbeaten and player of the match, while 14-year-old Toby Payne also went unbeaten and partnered Lewis to take the doubles in a deciding 5th set.
Cowes Baptists moved into 2nd place after an 8-2 win against Ryde Raiders. Elsewhere, Shorwell Saviours recorded a derby victory over Shorwell Saints, while Wroxall Lizards defeated Wroxall C to maintain their strong position near the top.
