2 roads in Newport town centre have been closed this evening (Wednesday) as paramedics tend to a woman who has sustained a leg injury.
The incident has occurred at the zebra crossing outside the Island VI Form on St Johns Place.
Road closures are in effect at the junctions of St James Street and Trafalgar Road as well as St Johns Place and Medina Avenue.
2 unmarked Police vehicles are at the scene as well as 2 vehicles from the Isle of Wight Ambulance service who are tending to a casualty on scene.
The casualty appears to have sustained injuries while crossing the road and is being taken to hospital.
It is unclear if any vehicles were involved.
UPDATE @ 19:45 – All roads have now been re-opened and emergency services have left the scene.
