UPDATED: Emergency services are this morning attending a road traffic collision on the outskirts of Newport.
Police and ambulance crews are on the scene at Briddlesford Road near Wootton, where a collision – believed to involve a Citroen Xsara – occurred shortly before 11:00.
The road has been closed in both directions at the junction of Blacklands Road and Whiterails Road.
It is currently unknown how many vehicles have been involved in the incident, which has taken place directly outside Briddlesford Lodge Farm.
Island Roads are also attending the incident to clear a fuel spill.
UPDATE @ 15:30 – Briddlesford Road re-opened to traffic shortly before 15:00.
Island Echo understand a motorcycle and a car were involved in the collision.
It is currently unknown the seriousness of any injuries sustained.
