Police have closed a busy road in Sandown this lunchtime (Saturday) as paramedics tend to a pedestrian who has been hit by a car. The incident has occurred on Station Avenue, near to the junction with Albert Road. Emergency services responded to the scene shortly after 12:30. Station Avenue – a one way street – is closed from the junction with St John’s Road. UPDATE – It has been confirmed that the pedestrian has suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision. Station Avenue has reopened to all traffic.
