Rew Street in Gurnard has been closed today (Tuesday) from its junction with Westview Road and Harness Lane to its junction with Pallance Road for a distance of 199 metres.
The closure is to enable Southern Water to carry out emergency repairs outside a property called Fairwinds.
The diversion will be via Pallance Road, Place Road, Tuttons Hill, Worsley Road, Solent View Road and Marsh Road which will operate in both directions.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the road is closed.
The closure went in place at 09:00 hours on 19th May 2020 and will remain in place for a maximum period of five days or until the works are completed, whichever is sooner.
Main Road, Porchfield was also closed this morning due to a burst 4-inch water main.
