UPDATED: RED FUNNEL PULLS 6 SAILINGS ON THURSDAY DUE TO OVERRUNNING WORKS

Red Funnel has been forced to cancel 6 of its vehicle ferry sailings tomorrow (Thursday) due to overrunning maintenance works. It’s been confirmed that the 05:00, 08:00 and 11:00 sailings from Southampton have been cancelled, alongside the 06:30, 09:30 and 12:30 sailings from East Cowes. The cross-Solent operator has blamed the ‘extension’ of essential maintenance on Red Falcon as the reason for the disruption. These latest cancellations follow a turbulent few weeks for Red Funnel, who have come under fire for their deteriorating service and the proposed sale of Red Jet 4. Yesterday, Bob Seely MP called on the Government to take action against the ferry companies during a Parliamentary debate, as previously reported by Island Echo. Red Funnel apologises for any inconvenience to your journey. UPDATE @ 10:25 – The 14:00 & 17:00 from Southampton and the 15:30 & 18:30 from East Cowes have also been cancelled.
