The Red Arrows will take a break from winter training to perform over Portsmouth Harbour later this week as part of a celebratory event in support of HMS Prince of Wales.
Islanders should focus their eyes on the skies on Wednesday afternoon when the Royal Air Force aerobatic display team will fly overhead.
The Royal Navy’s latest aircraft carrier, HMS Prince of Wales, will be in port when the Red Arrows perform between 17:45 and 18:20 on Wednesday afternoon – just as darkness sets in.
If the weather prevents the display from going ahead, then Thursday afternoon has also been reserved with the Red Arrows expected overhead between 15:30-15:50, if required.
Some disruption to cross-Solent travel may be experienced as the harbour will be closed for a short period of time.
