A raffle packed with dozens of prizes is being organised at the Crown Hotel, Ryde, to support Ebony Medland, who is preparing to skydive in memory of her late mother while raising money for mental health charity, Mind.
Ebony is set to take on a 15,000ft skydive in Salisbury on 26th July with GoSkydive to raise funds for Mind.
To help raise funds ahead of the skydive, a charity raffle will be held at The Crown Hotel on Friday 25th April.
Tickets cost £1 each with the raffle including a large number of donated prizes from local businesses across the Island, including vouchers, experiences and family days out.
The challenge is being undertaken in memory of her mum, Nadia Medland, who Ebony says was one of the strongest people she had the pleasure of knowing despite battling mental health struggles throughout her life.
Ebony has said:
“My mum always tried to support other people throughout their struggles, no matter how much she was struggling herself.
“I want her strength and fight to carry on in us.”
All money raised will go directly to Mind, with Ebony confirming she has already fully paid for the skydive herself so donations go straight to the charity.
Ebony says the fundraiser is about helping others receive support for mental health struggles and ensuring fewer families experience the pain of losing someone to mental illness.
