East Cowes-based young entrepreneur, Kellie Conway, has won one of the UK’s most prestigious hair and beauty awards after being announced a Gold Finalist and Henna Brow Specialist of the Year 2021.
Competing against 5,000 entrants from around the UK, she made it to the shortlist and was then announced the overall winner during the online ceremony on 15th December.
Kellie has been running her own successful business Kellie Brows, Beauty and Training, for the last 3-and-a-half years, but has been in the beauty industry for 10 years having begun her training at the Isle of Wight College when she was 18-years-old.
After learning that she had won, Kellie said:
“Brows have always been a passion and there is nothing more satisfying than seeing my clients happy with the finished results. I was so excited that I burst into tears (happy tears). I can’t believe it really. It’s nice to have two awards behind me now as last year I won Brow Specialist of the Year and a Bronze award.
“It’s a really rewarding job and at the same time it makes me so happy. I don’t see my work as a job, I see it as a passion that I love doing every day.”
She adds:
“For the competition I had to select 10 different pictures of my work and also had to explain why I felt should win the award, what makes me different to other specialists, what aspects of the business I’m most proud of and my biggest achievement to date, etc. Three judges then made the decision to shortlist me from thousands and to present me with the overall win.
