A 59-year-old from Brighstone has been arrested following a public order incident in Freshwater earlier this afternoon (Friday).
Police were called at 13:27 to reports of a man acting aggressively on Avenue Road, Freshwater.
Officers attended and a 59-year-old man from Brighstone was arrested on suspicion of public order and possession of a Class B drug.
He remains in custody at this time.
I witnessed it happen, he was sat quietly minding his own business on a bench. My neighbour and several other people saw this happen and we all stood there flabbergasted as the police dragged him off the bench and manhandled him to the floor.
59! Should have known better. Drugs must be a zero tolerance response.
