A rower has been brought ashore to safety by lifeboat this afternoon (Wednesday) after a member of the public raised concerns that the gentleman was getting into difficulty in rough seas.
HM Coastguard received a call shortly before 16:00 reporting concerns that a lone sailor was getting into difficulty off the Ryde coastline, with nothing but oars as propulsion.
Launching at the request of Solent Coastguard, Ryde Inshore Rescue successfully located the uninjured seafarer, who was was transferred to the Ryde Rescue 1 lifeboat with a tow commenced on the dingy.
Both were brought back to dry land at Ryde Harbour, where the man was given safety advise.
