UPDATED: Residents and businesses in Upper Ventnor are without electricity this morning (Sunday) due to a network fault in the area.
A total of 70 postcode areas have been affected by the outage in the PO38 1 and PO38 3 region.
Supply was lost at 07:20, however Southern and Scottish Energy say engineers hope to have the majority of customers reconnected by 08:15.
UPDATE @ 08:17 – The majority of properties in the area have now had power restored.
For those without power still, it is hoped the supply will be restored by 10:15.
Island Roads have advised that an emergency road closure is being put in place on High Street, Shanklin between Victoria Avenue and Orchardleigh Road for works by SSE in relation to the power outage.
UPDATE @ 10:50 – Power has been restored to all properties in the area according to Southern and Scottish Energy.
