UPDATED: A power cut has hit areas of the South Wight this evening (Tuesday) including Chale, Niton, Whitwell and Ventnor.
169 postcode areas are without electricity supplies following the outage at 17:10.
Properties affected include those in the PO38 1–; PO38 2–; PO38 3–; PO30 3HF, PO30 4QP and PO36 0JP postcodes.
Southern and Scottish Energy Power Distribution are deploying engineers to investigate the fault.
It is estimated that power will be restored by 19:15.
UPDATE @ 18:15 – An hour after supplies were lost, around 94 postcode areas remain without electricity this evening.
UPDATE @ 18:35 – A further 32 postcodes have seen power restored, however 62 remain without electricity.
UPDATE @ 19:22 – Power has been restored to all properties, according to SSE.
