Homes and businesses in Cowes are without power this afternoon (Saturday) – and it is expected to be several hours before supplies are restored.
It was just gone midday that over 850 properties in the PO31 region lost electricity, owing to a underground network fault.
A total of 58 properties have been hit by the outage, which is not expected to be resolved until 17:00 this afternoon.
Aldi supermarket has shut up shop as a result. Other firms are also affected.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks are aware of the issue and an engineer is now on site.
For further information about this power cut call the dedicated helpline by dialling 105.
Alternatively, you can send SSEN a message on Facebook or Twitter (@ssencommunity).
App: Did you know SSEN also have a mobile phone app where you can report, locate, track and subscribe to faults in your area?

All supermarkets are popular otherwise they close!
Probably quite useful if you were to inform readers which “popular” supermarket is affected?
