UPDATED: Police are this evening (Thursday) searching for a missing 37-year-old woman from Ryde.
Officers on the ground have been assisted by the National Police Air Service helicopter in searching the East Coast of the Island, particularly Culver Down where Police have been sat-in-waiting.
Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team have also been involved in the search.
WightSAR, the Island’s voluntary search and rescue team have been deployed in the last 15 minutes.
Hampshire Constabulary are yet to release any details of the missing person.
Meanwhile in Shanklin, Police have been on the hunt for a 27-year-old known offender. Door to door enquiries have been taking place.
UPDATE @ 18:20 – The missing woman has been found near Chale.
The search has now been stood down.
