Concerns for the welfare of a female – thought to be a young child – led Police and paramedics to respond to a family centre in Newport earlier this afternoon (Thursday). Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was called at 13:45 to a concern for welfare incident at the West Newport Family Centre on Wellington Road. 4 units responded to the scene, alongside an ambulance from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service. Paramedics were seen to be in and out of the building before a toddler was taken into the ambulance. Police have confirmed that although officers attended, in the end, there were no concerns for the female.
