Police have arrested a 46-year-old man after responding to reports of a woman being assaulted in Apse Heath yesterday evening (Thursday).
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was called at 18:36 to reports of an assault between a man and a woman on Winford Road.
Numerous officers responded to Springvale Woodland Burial Ground car park, where particular attention was paid to a black Audi.
A 46-year-old man from Sandown was subsequently arrested on suspicion of common assault.
He remains in police custody at this time.
