UPDATED: Several Police units and paramedics are attending an incident at a property in Oakvale, Ryde this evening (Monday).
5 Police vehicles rushed to Building 9 on the estate at around 17:20, followed by an ambulance.
No cordon is currently in place and residents are able to enter and leave the building.
UPDATE @ 18:15 – Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Armed Response Officers, equipped with an emergency medical kit, have withdrawn from the property.
Emergency services remain on the scene with different Police units leaving and arriving.
One male is currently with paramedics in the ambulance, however he does not appear to have any obvious physical injury.
UPDATE @ 18:30 – Detectives from Newport CID have arrived at Oakvale and have entered the property, indicating the seriousness of the incident.
Sadly, despite the efforts of emergency crews, it is understood a female has died. The death is not thought to be suspicious.
The male has been driven away from the scene by Police. He has not been arrested and is being supported at this time.
UPDATE TUESDAY – Hampshire Constabulary have this morning confirmed that the death of a woman at a property in Oakvale is being treated as non-suspicious.
A file is being prepared for the Island’s coroner, Caroline Sumeray.
