The sun finally made an appearance for the last event on the Wightlink-Wight Mountain TT calendar – the September 2-Day Festival.
The Brook 10 Mile circuit was the first up on Saturday and most riders returned on Sunday morning to take on the more challenging Chessell 40km course (with the Juniors racing over 20km) to compete for the overall category titles.
The WLWM lads were on exceptional form with Kev Chant taking the top spot on the first day in a time of 20 minutes 39 seconds with Joe Staunton powering home to first place for the Chessell 40km in just over an hour, doing enough to secure the overall win against some stiff opposition for competing in both events.
Teammates James Veal and Simon Ambrosini made it a hat trick for the team taking 2nd and 3rd place respectively, with Simon also securing the Vet 50+ category title.
Tav Walker (Bradford-on-Avon CC) took time out of his holiday on the Isle of Wight to compete and pulled out 2 strong rides to take the Non-WLWM trophy.
Ewan Cook, who has raced in every event, continued his winning streak in the Junior category by taking the top trophy and cash prize.
Steve Taylor won the Vets 60+ title and Dominique Noyce put in the best times to take the Ladies title.
