Platform One College of Music has launched a new Songwriting Showcase opportunity for Island residents aged 14-24.
There is no limit with regards to musical genre. It could be a solo project, a collaboration, a band or an instrumental. The only limitation is that judges want to hear original music – no covers.
This showcase is open to all Islanders aged between 14 and 24-years-old, not just students enrolled at Newport-based Platform One.
David Pontin, director of Platform One, says:
“These are certainly unprecedented times and we are committed to continuing our support to young musicians and creatives across the Island. This is not a competition but an opportunity to showcase musical works to a professional industry panel”.
The industry panel will go through all submissions and will select 3 projects that will gain access to free professional recording sessions – with producer, session musicians (if needed), mix engineer and mastering.
All you have to do is email for a registration form – [email protected]. Platform One will email back a form to complete. All submissions will be requested as MP3s or as a relevant weblink.
Entries close on 31st May 2020.
