A licensing application has been submitted to the Isle of Wight Council by Thai Journey Restaurant for permission to sell alcohol at Essex Cottage in Godshill.
It suggests that the premises, which has been empty since being vacated by Woods Kitchen last year, could become a Thai restaurant.
The application requests permission to sell alcohol from 10:00 until 23:00 from Monday to Sunday.
It is thought that the applicant has previously been involved with Thai restaurants in Camberley, Surrey and Lyndhurst in the New Forest.
It is not yet known when the new restaurant may open.

Still gutted Tansyies has closed. Simply the best xx
That might be a goer. Who doesn’t love a Thai meal? Plus it’s a on a decent bus route. Good luck
Sounds like a great idea.
I also agree that a new Thai restaurant would be great for the island. Hopefully, it will be a better standard than the two “olde worlde” Thai restaurants in Shanklin.
