Some properties in Havenstreet are set to experience planned power interruptions over the coming days as Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) carries out a 5-day programme of maintenance work.
The works are taking place between today (Wednesday) and Monday (14th September), although residents have been reassured that the whole area will not be without electricity.
Properties affected by the planned works should have received a hand-delivered notification from SSEN.
Today, a generator is being connected to maintain electricity supplies while work is carried out. Those properties being supplied by the generator should experience only a brief interruption while it is switched on.
A longer outage is then planned for Saturday (12th September), when the generator will need to be disconnected while engineers work on the section of the electricity network to which it is connected.
Affected properties are expected to be without power between 08:30 and 16:30 while this work is completed safely.
SSEN plans to reconnect customers to the generator at around 16:30.
The notification sent to residents states that work on Saturday involves replacing poles which support overhead electricity cables.
A further brief interruption is expected at around 16:30 on Monday (14th September), when the generator will be removed and affected customers reconnected to the main electricity network.
This is expected to mark the completion of the 5-day programme of planned maintenance.
The outages do not affect the whole of Havenstreet, with only certain properties included in the planned works.
