The audience enjoyed a wide repertoire of songs, including some from the shows Phantom of the Opera (All I Ask of You) and Chess (Anthem). The choir also performed many old favourites such as You’ll Never Walk Alone, Singing in The Rain, You Raise Me Up as well as the addition of When You Danced with Me by ABBA. Pat Attrill performed the solo Brothers in Arms; Paul Stevens sang American Trilogy; Ian Attrill entertained the audience with a rendition of Can’t Stop Loving You; Elizabeth Habens did a solo performance of I Will Always Love You.
The concert raised a sum of £1,145, including proceeds from a raffle. This will be used towards various projects to increase the social space at the back of the Church and in the welcoming front vestibule.
Phoenix Choir’s next concert in aid of Carisbrooke Castle Museum will be at St John’s Church, Newport, on Thursday 30th June at 19:30.
