PHOENIX CHOIR HOLDING FUNDRAISING CONCERT IN AID OF CHURCH TOWER

The Phoenix Choir will be performing a fundraising concert at All Saints Church in Newchurch on Saturday 8th June. Located on High Street in the village, the church’s iconic white tower desperately needs restoration and maintenance work to stabilise and secure it for future generations. The wooden church tower has suffered water ingress and wear and tear and has already had a metal frame added to strengthen it, but much more needs to be done. It is hoped that the concert will raise funds to cover the cost of the work. A wide range of songs from films and musicals including ‘The Lion King’, ‘Fiddler on the Roof’, ‘Les Miserables’, together with well-known tunes by Abba, Elvis Presley, Rod Stewart and many more will be sung. Starting at 19:00, admission to the event is free with a retiring collection in aid of the Tower Appeal.
