roadworksWITH the PFI highways contract coming into force in April, further details about the scheme are set to be revealed in an information roadshow in Ryde today (Monday).

Island Roads, the company set up to run the PFI contract, will be at Ryde Academy, Pell Lane from 18:00, explaining in detail how the contract will benefit the Island’s roads, pavements and street furniture.

The contract has been controversial, with the Isle of Wight Council signing over the 25-year deal, however it is understood that the majority of the work will be carried out within the first 7 years, start in just 3 months time.
