Reports of a person trapped underneath an overturned vehicle on the Barton Estate in East Cowes led to an emergency response by firefighters and paramedics earlier this morning (Wednesday).
It was just before 08:30 that a 999 call raised the alarm of an incident in a remote area of East Cowes, off Mount Road.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service mobilised an appliance and the Rescue Support Vehicle – both from Newport – to the scene, with the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service also deploying numerous resources.
Thankfully, the individual had been freed prior to the arrival of firefighters, who made the scene safe and assisted colleagues from the ambulance service.
The casualty was handed over into the care of paramedics for further assessment and treatment.
The incident was brought to a close by around 09:00.
