An elderly male suffering from cardiac problems has been airlifted to a mainland hospital from St Helens Green this morning (Wednesday).
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance landed in the heart of the village at just before 09:45 following a request from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, which initially had an ambulance and rapid response paramedic attending to the patient.
The life-saving, charity-funded helicopter took off again en-route to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth at 10:10.
