Staff and students across the 3 Island schools took part in a festive mufti day on Friday, which saw students taking in an item for the Isle of Wight Food Bank in exchange for being able to wear their own clothes and festive items for the day.
Medina College, Carisbrooke College and the Island VI Form all took part in the fundraising day.
Over 2,000 items were collected and delivered to the local Foodbank in Cowes, thanks to the efforts of those a part of the Isle of Wight Education Federation.
A spokesperson for the federation said:
“It has been great for our students to see that a small contribution can make a big difference when we work together as a community. Their efforts will go a long way to helping ensure that all Island families have food this Christmas”.
