Residents of Orchard House Care Home in Newport were shaken not stirred at their celebration of World Cocktail Day.
World Cocktail Day is a global celebration of cocktails and invites everyone to try something new and perhaps a little exotic.
Mixologist Connor Seddon, Bar Manager at the Brunswick Hotel in Shanklin, visited residents and gave them a wonderful demonstration of his cocktail making skills, amazing them with his bottle throwing and catching and wowing them with his use of a flame torch to make the herbs in the drink just right.
Residents sampled 2 cocktails: a Bramble (a bright red gin-based cocktail) and a Caramel Saltini (a Baileys-based coffee liqueur). Residents loved them both.
General Manager at Orchard House Kim Fleming said:
“Everyone had so much fun today trying the different cocktails and were so impressed with the bottle throwing. We thank Connor for giving up his time to show us how wonderful cocktails can be.”
Resident Elisabeth has said:
“It was absolutely amazing to watch how the cocktails were made. His bottle throwing was so good he should be on the stage.”
