policefourcarcollisionUPDATED: Emergency services have this afternoon attended a four-car collision in Wootton.

One Police officer has been extricated from his vehicle after firefighters cut the roof off of the new Ford Focus response car, which was at the head of a multi car pile-up.

Three other vehicles have been involved in the incident, which took place just before 15:00 outside Harwood’s garage on Lushington Hill.

Three other persons have been injured and have been transferred to St Mary’s Hospital, according to Hampshire Constabulary.


Three ambulances, two fire appliances and a number of Police officers attended the scene.

UPDATE @ 16:34 – According to Southern Vectis, Lushington Hill has now reopened.

The conditions of those injured, two men and two women, is currently unknown.
