No charges have been brought against 4 people arrested on suspicion of being involved in the hacking of a computer system at Sandown Bay Academy last year.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Hampshire Constabulary last September launched an investigation into the attack of Sandown Bay Academy’s computer system, which left staff unable to access computer records. The school faced disruption to its day-to-day running for some time as a result.
A 57-year-old man was arrested at the time of the incident, followed by a further 3 arrests. All 4 were questioned on suspicion of committing offences contrary to the Computer Misuse Act 1990.
The 15-year-old teenager, 18-year-old man, 57-year-old man and 58-year-old man were all bailed to return to Newport Police Station last Thursday, however it has been confirmed that all 4 have been released from bail without charge.
Police are continuing their investigations.
