Ron Bowler has been appointed as the new president of Vectis Sunrise Rotary Club.
A virtual handover took place recently with Paul Wheeler, who has held the role for the last 12 months, passing the baton over to Ron.
Whilst COVID-19 has curtailed the club’s activities, with the help of Zoom the club are interacting with regular meetings and quiz nights hosted online.
Having retired from Jewson in June 2019, Ron is no stranger to working in the charity sector having been involved in Walk the Wight since its conception. He is also a Mountbatten fundraising volunteer.
The coming 12 months will be very different for Rotary, however, Vectis Sunrise is looking to support the local community where they can and are looking for volunteers to become ‘Friends of Rotary’ to help support projects and campaigns.
