2 men accused of stabbing 30-year-old Tommy Barton to death in Ryde last weekend have been remanded in custody until September.
27-year-old Cameron Baker of Leed Street in Sandown and 27-year-old Rio Scott of Park Road in Ryde appeared before Judge Morris at Winchester Crown Court earlier today (Friday).
No pleas were entered at this stage in proceedings, but a plea is expected to be given by both defendants when they next appear at Winchester Crown Court on 15th September. They have both been remanded in custody until that date.
A provisional trial date has been set for November this year, should not guilty pleas be entered.

On Wednesday, the duo appeared before Magistrates in Southampton each facing a single charge of murder. The Crown Prosecution Service outlined the basic details of the case, stating that a fight occurred in relation to an ex-girlfriend.
Tragically, Mr Barton was stabbed multiple times.
As previously reported by Island Echo, a murder investigation was launched after Thomas Lee Barton died on the way to hospital following an incident at Park Road, Ryde during the early hours of Sunday morning. Following 3 days of forensic investigation and questioning, detectives charged Cameron Baker and Rio Scott with Tommy’s murder.
A 24-year-old woman from Shanklin, who was also arrested on suspicion of murder, has been bailed with conditions until 28th August, pending further enquiries.
A fundraising appeal has been launched to help Tommy’s family. At the time of writing, a staggering £9,000 has been raised in order to help the family pay for the funeral costs, with the remainder set aside for his young daughter’s future.
